About the Speakers

Dr. Lise Alschuler is a naturopathic doctor with board certification in naturopathic oncology and has been a practicing since 1994. She is past-President of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a founding and current President of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She maintains a naturopathic oncology part-time practice out of Naturopathic Specialists, based in Scottsdale AZ. Previously, she was the department head of naturopathic medicine at Midwestern Regional Medical Center. . In September 2000, Dr. Alschuler was named by Seattle Magazine as one of Seattle’s Top Doctors.

Dr. Wendy Warner MD, ABIHM is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as in integrative holistic medicine. She has been the chair of the department of OB/GYN at two hospitals in suburban Philadelphia, and was the medical director of the Holistic Medicine Center at St Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. She is the founder and director of Medicine In Balance, LLC in suburban Philadelphia, where she provides integrative holistic women’s health services, as well as integrative medicine consultations

Ecologically Harvested is a term that describes all herbs sold by Gaia Herbs that are not Certified Organic. Ecologically Harvested herbs include herbs that are harvested in their natural habitat, (i.e., wild harvested) according to specific guidelines for harvesting these herbs (i.e., away from roads and industry, as well as guidelines to avoid overharvesting). Our term, Ecologically Harvested, also includes herbs that are grown in managed woodland areas, fields designated for specific herbs, and herbs that are grown by indigenous growers, such as Kava Kava. All Ecologically Harvested herbs pass pesticide and heavy metal testing as well as microbial testing, prior to release.
