A degreed and published plant biologist, Jackie Greenfield works directly with farmers and wild crafters—nationally and internationally—personally inspecting their farms and production facilities to validate them as qualified vendors and, over time, assist them with issues ranging from organic production and certification to harvest and post-harvest handling, sustainable harvesting methods, and overall quality control. Prior to joining Gaia, she worked as an independent consultant, advising vegetable, herb, flower, and woodland farmers on organic and sustainable production by assisting them with business plans, land-use assessments, alternative crops, work plans, production schedules, and organic certification status.
