Ethical, Regenerative Sourcing and Partnerships

Behind every Gaia herb is a network of farmers, harvesters, and ecosystems working in harmony. Our growing portfolio of Fair Trade and Regenerative Organic Certified® ingredients reflects our commitment to people, plants, and the planet.

In 2024 and 2025, 51 ingredients (roughly 20% of our total) were certified through Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC™), Fair for Life, or FairWild fair trade standards, up from 35 in 2023.

Our Commitment

In 2025, Gaia Herbs® successfully recertified our facilities under both the Fair for Life and FairWild standards, reinforcing our deep commitment to ethical and sustainable sourcing. Fair for Life is a rigorous Fair Trade certification that places people, equity, and environmental respect at the heart of global supply chains, ensuring fair pricing, safe working conditions, and transparent, responsible practices for farmers and workers throughout agricultural and traded products.

Complementing this, the FairWild certification specifically addresses the sustainable harvest and trade of wild-collected plant ingredients. It provides a comprehensive framework that safeguards biodiversity and ecosystems while ensuring that wild harvesters and their communities benefit through fair agreements, ecological stewardship, and rigorous, third-party audited traceability from collection through processing.

Together, these standards help us source in a way that uplifts people, honors the planet, and promotes lasting, positive impact across our supply chain.

“Fairness has no boundaries.”Fair for Life

“Authentic fair trade is about honoring the people, planet, and plants holistically. Fair trade practices enable us to highlight some of the amazing work our global suppliers are doing, while fair trade premiums generate ongoing positive outcomes within our sourcing communities.”

- Chase Millhollen , Director, Global Sourcing / Supply Chain
