With over 25 years of experience in the natural products industry, Angela McElwee has had the opportunity to build structure, vision, and teams at many levels – as a retailer, board member, community member, and leader of a mission-driven vertically integrated manufacturer. As President and CEO of Gaia Herbs, she has stewarded growth and built a world-class team for North America’s top herbal supplement brand. Starting in May 2008 as VP of Sales, she was promoted to VP of Sales Operations in 2013 and began serving as President in August 2016. Her tenure has seen tremendous industry growth, innovation, and change, all while remaining true to its purpose of connecting people, plants, and planet to create healing. She is a passionate advocate for using business as a vehicle to promote positive change, and brings that same ethos to her work as a Founding Board Member for Naturally Austin, a nonprofit working to nurture impact businesses in Central Texas, and to her volunteer work as an Advisory Board Member for the climate change education leader, At The Epicenter.
As Chief Financial Officer, Bill Cave is responsible for the overall financial strategy and direction for Gaia Herbs including the company’s financial reporting, long-range business planning, and program management. With over 30 years of financial expertise, Bill has established a reputation for aligning financial and business metrics to support business strategy and high-growth and has extensive experience growing large and small companies across the automotive, medical, durable goods, and non-durable consumer sectors. Bill is proud to work for Gaia Herbs, the leading herbal supplement company in the United States, which has remained true to its core values since the very beginning, to connect plants and people to nurture health and well-being.
Brian Traylor is the Vice President of Operations at Gaia Herbs, bringing his passion for creating an engaging team culture together with his results-oriented problem-solving strategies. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of South Carolina, Brian has a strong diversity in education that balances technical and business concepts and provides him the knowledge necessary to identify and implement robust solutions to a wide variety of operational issues. Brian has been a proven leader at multiple organizational levels for the last 23 years including manufacturing, packaging, warehousing and logistics—providing extensive knowledge and leadership to the entire Gaia Herbs team.
As Vice President of People and Learning for Gaia Herbs, Jennifer Lynch is responsible for the overall employee experience including best-in-class recruitment, training and on-boarding, employee engagement and relations, learning and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee recognition programs. Jennifer is a visionary leader who works to create strategic business solutions that focus on the development and wellness of our people. A seasoned Human Resources leader with over 20 years of experience, Jennifer has worked with leaders in many Fortune 500 and Fortune 50 companies throughout her career. Jennifer is proud to be working for a company that focuses as much care and attention on the wellness of its employees as it does in creating world-class natural products that help people live better lives.
Dr. Jeremy Stewart has been with Gaia Herbs since 2005, after attending the University of Mississippi, where he obtained his PhD in pharmacognosy, the study of chemistry and biology of natural products. In 2007, Jeremy became Gaia’s Chief Scientist, overseeing the analytical laboratory, while developing, updating and reviewing standard operating procedures, assuring Gaia meets or exceeds current standards. In 2012, Jeremy took the title of VP of Scientific Affairs. He expanded Gaia’s quality department and created a research and development department to include some of the most state of the art analytical technologies used in the natural products industry today. He works on a consistent basis with team members throughout Gaia to improve processes and create products of the highest quality in accordance with Gaia Herbs’ commitment to purity, potency, and integrity.
Our mission is to create and nurture healthy connections between plants and people. We do that through finding and maintaining strong global relationships, in addition to championing personal and environmental sustainability here at home, on our own organic farm.
