WHAT IS IT?

Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) is a flowering herb that has been used for over 2,000 years to support liver health. It contains the active compound silymarin, which is responsible for its beneficial properties.

WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Milk Thistle supports the liver's natural detoxification processes, promoting liver cell regeneration and protecting the liver from oxidative damage. It is often used to maintain overall liver function and support healthy digestion.

OTHER INGREDIENTS

Berberine HCl (HIMABERB®) [from Indian barberry (Berberis aristata) root], Organic Silactive® Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) fruit extract. Organic Ginger (Zingiber officinale) root, vegan capsule (hypromellose), organic rice hulls, and organic rice extract blend (organic rice bran extract, organic rice hulls, organic gum arabic, and organic sunflower oil).

Berberine For The Win
I have taken milk thistle in the past and had overall mixed reviews on it. Gaia brand though with the berberine with it is a game changer. After about 1 week I started to notice a difference from day to day. Had my yearly checkup with blood tests and my numbers also showed a dramatic difference. Outside of trying to be healthier and taking this as recommended I had not changed anything.

Great quality, can actually feel a difference
I’ve been taking Gaia Herbs Berberine & Milk Thistle for a little bit now, and I’m really impressed with the quality and results. I was specifically looking for something to support healthy blood sugar levels and overall liver health, and this formula combines both in one convenient supplement.
I appreciate that Gaia Herbs uses clean, plant-based ingredients. The addition of milk thistle alongside berberine makes this feel like a more complete formula, and I also like that it includes ginger, which helps make it gentler on my stomach. I haven’t experienced any digestive discomfort, which can sometimes happen with berberine products.

"I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own. #ad #freesample' Product works as advertised. Leaves me feeling energized and curbs appetite. I'm not sure about the blood sugar leveling. I take two capsules once a day. I like it and will continue to use it.

We believe healthy plants start in healthy soil. To obtain maximum potency from an herb, we plant seeds in micronutrient dense soil sustained by regenerative agricultural practices.

We allow our herbs to flourish until the right moment to harvest to ensure the purity and potency of each plant. We conduct pre-harvest testing in our on-site laboratory to ensure each ingredient is harvested at peak potency.

Every herb is carefully extracted, without harsh solvents or chemicals, to preserve its beneficial properties.

Test for purity & potency

Each product is tested for microbes and heavy metals in our on-site ISO Certified laboratory. When we’re confident each batch is made to a Gaia Herbs standard, they are bottled in our on-site manufacturing facility & sent to you.

Your Questions, Answered

Are your products Organic?

Gaia Herbs purchases Certified Organic ingredients when possible. If not Certified Organic, they are Ecologically Harvested. Ecologically Harvested herbs include herbs that are harvested in their natural habitat, (i.e., wild harvested) according to specific guidelines for harvesting these herbs (i.e., away from roads and industry, as well as guidelines to avoid overharvesting).

All Ecologically Harvested herbs must pass pesticide, heavy metals, and microbial testing prior to being used in our products.

Do you test for pesticides?

Yes. Gaia tests for purity using an analytical method called Gas Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry, or GC-MSMS. This testing is used in our extensive pesticide testing program when testing our raw herbs.

What is your policy on GMOs?

Gaia Herbs is committed to using and supporting only non-GMO materials. Gaia does not purchase GMO herbs and/or ingredients. We do a purchasing review to ensure we eliminate the possibility of hidden GMOs making their way into our products.

All herbs propagated and grown on Gaia Farm are Certified Organic and therefore are GMO-free. Our seeds, whether sourced from our farm or a trusted supplier, are also GMO-free. We will always do everything possible to ensure that our products are non-GMO.

Do you test for Heavy Metals?

Yes. Gaia Herbs uses ICP-MS to test for arsenic, mercury, cadmium and lead. ICP-MS stands for Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry. This instrument is the centerpiece of Gaia’s heavy metals testing. This powerful technique is capable of observing a wide range of metal at quantities as low as a nanogram of metal in a gram sample. The ICP-MS allows Gaia to obtain precise and sensitive data for all materials in a high speed manner. The plasma vaporizes the sample and ultimately breaks it down to the atomic level. The mass spectrometer is then able to detect all atoms of interest.
