Gisele Bündchen, world renowned model, philanthropist, and wellness advocate is entering a new chapter and embracing her lifelong passion for plants with Gaia Herbs. She is looking forward to learning more about how plants can make the world a healthier place.

Gisele is partnering with Gaia Herbs to be their first Wellness Ambassador. She is committed to learning and sharing how plants have the power to transform how we live, look, and feel.

Reconnecting With Her Roots

Gisele grew up in the small town of Horizontina, in Southern Brazil. She and her sisters spent most of their time playing outdoors and enjoying nature. She fondly remembers picking fresh fruits and vegetables from her grandmother’s garden. A highlight of visiting her grandmother was the herbal teas she made for them.

“My grandmother had a tea for everything,” Gisele recollects, and the teas were always served with loving care and purpose.

Her grandmother’s wisdom guided her when, in her twenties, Gisele began suffering from panic attacks. She was hesitant to take medication to ease her anxiety. Instead, she found an osteopath who prescribed a healthier diet, lifestyle changes, and herbal supplements. Gradually, she found her health improving and attributed this to the positive changes she made.

Gisele loves being a student and looks forward to sharing the knowledge she’s gained from over 20 years of eating healthy nourishing meals, embracing daily movement, and meditation practices. In addition, she takes select herbs that her health advisors have recommended to support her physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness journey.

Focusing on High Quality, Organic Herbal Supplements with Gaia Herbs

Gisele understands firsthand how different herbs support different aspects of health and vitality. She began taking Gaia supplements in her 20s and has continued to integrate them into her daily routine, extending their benefits to her family as well. She chose Gaia Herbs to partner with because she knew it was not just another herbal supplement company, but their products are produced with integrity.

Gisele visited Gaia Herb’s beautiful 350-acre Certified Organic Brevard, NC farm this summer and discovered the level of attention Gaia gives to every step of the growing, sourcing, and production process. She learned that Gaia grows many of the plants and herbs on their farm to ensure they’re grown without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or genetically modified seed and are harvested at the right time for potency.

When visiting Gaia’s farm, Gisele discovered the company’s team commitments to caring for nature to make the best possible products. She loves that the company operates like a family.

7 of Our Favorite Herbal Supplements for Health and Vitality

While Gisele takes specific herbal supplements, she acknowledges that each body is unique. Every person needs to determine with their health professional what nutrients they should supplement for optimum health, depending on their existing diet and any health conditions they might have.

Here are 7 great supplements that support health and vitality.

1. Turmeric Supreme

Turmeric, a bright orange rhizome (the stem below the ground), is a staple in Indian cooking and has become one of the more popular herbal supplements on the market for its ability to support a healthy inflammatory response in healthy individuals.

Additionally, it is thought to support healthy digestion. More human studies are needed to confirm these claims, but initial research is promising.

Gaia Herbs’ Turmeric Supreme, which also comes in Pain Support, Joint Health, and Sinus Support formulas, is sourced from Nicaragua, Indonesia, and India, because conditions in these countries are ideal for growing Turmeric with the highest levels of beneficial constituents. Gaia also uses this Turmeric combined with Ashwagandha and Dates in our Golden Milk to support body and mind.

All the Turmeric in Gaia products is cultivated by family farmers using natural farming methods and is thoroughly quality tested for pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants to ensure it meets our stringent standards.

2. Ashwagandha Gummies

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an adaptogenic herb that has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to support a range of physical and emotional systems. It promotes a healthy resistance to stress, making it a good herb to have on hand for trying times.

Gaia Herbs’ ashwagandha is available as gummies and capsules and included with other herbs in other health-specific formulations. Ashwagandha Gummies are naturally sweet from blueberry, apple, and date, with no refined sugar and nothing artificial.

3. Adrenal Health Daily

Adrenal glands — small, triangular-shaped glands that rest above the kidneys — produce hormones that affect multiple essential functions, including stress response, blood pressure, immune system, and metabolism. These hard-working glands can become fatigued and out of balance, which can potentially lead to symptoms.

While more research is needed, it is believed that adaptogenic herbs — herbs that help the body deal with physiological stress — can help support adrenals and maintain your well-being. There are many herbs that are considered adaptogens. Gaia Herbs offers a proprietary formula, called Adrenal Health Daily, that combines Rhodiola, Holy Basil, Ashwagandha, and Schisandra with Gaia-grown Oats.

4. Lion’s Mane Mushroom Capsules

Many mushrooms offer great potential health benefits. Lion’s Mane, specifically, is prized for its potential to support brain and neurological health. * The unusual, stringy, light-colored fruiting body of Lion’s Mane can be used in any recipe for mushrooms. As a supplement, it can be incorporated into your daily routine.

Gaia Herbs chose North American Medicinal Mushroom Extract (Nammex) as our mushroom provider because we wanted mushrooms grown in conditions as similar as possible to their natural habitat. Nammex has Certified Organic growing and manufacturing operations in Qingyuan County, China, a remote, mountainous region far from highly populated and polluted cities and manufacturing areas.

Gaia’s mushrooms are harvested from their growing substrate so that none of the growing medium is ever incorporated into the final supplement. Gaia’s Lions Mane Mushroom capsules are free of all fillers, starch, or grains.

5. Black Elderberry

Given its potential to strengthen the body’s immune system and promote overall wellness, Black Elderberry is a great staple to keep in your natural health pantry.

Black Elderberry is available in various forms from Gaia Herbs, including Black Elderberry Syrup, syrups for kids and nighttime, Adult Daily Gummies, Extra Strength Gummies, Kids Daily Gummies, and liquid extract. Black Elderberry Gummies are made without any added flavors or refined sugar and taste delicious.

6. Kava

Kava (Piper methysticum), a plant that originated on the archipelago of Vanuatu and now grows throughout Oceania, is thought to support stress management and the nervous system and induce a sense of calm. It is a good supplement to take occasionally for relaxation. South Pacific natives have used Kava root for centuries for religious, cultural, and social purposes, generally consuming it as a beverage.

Gaia Herbs offers Kava Root capsules and Kava 50 extract to help sustain a sense of relaxation. The Kava root we use is wild cultivated on the Vanuatu Islands, in the dense forests of these remote tropical islands. We do rigorous testing to ensure the root is Noble Kava (Piper methysticum) and not Tudei Kava (Piper wichmanii). Tudei Kava is a more potent variety with a higher potential for negative side effects such as nausea or “kava hangover.’

Noble Kava is considered safe, but should not be taken together with Valerian or alcohol to avoid compounding the sedative effects all three substances produce.

7. Holy Basil

Holy Basil, known as Tulsi in India, is another adaptogenic herb that may help manage your body’s stress response as well as several other functions. * Holy Basil has been a staple in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years and is revered as a spiritual plant because it is believed to be the reincarnation of the goddess Tulasi, a consort of the Hindu deity Lord Vishnu. It is considered a good supplement to take daily to support emotional well-being.

Holy Basil is widely available as a tea and can be found as a supplement. Rather than offering Holy Basil in this form, Gaia Herbs uses it in combination with other adaptogens in our Adrenal Health Daily Support and Stress Response products.
